National Security Advisor James Jones resigns

The retirement of National Security Advisor James Jones had been just announced. A replacement has already been found. The Deputy National Security Advisor, Tom Donilon, will succeed him. Officials haven’t left the White House in this quick a fashion since Watergate. Maybe most surprising was the announcement that Rahm Emanuel would leave as Chief of Staff to run for Mayor of Chicago. As outlined by rumor, Hillary Clinton is soon to replace Joe Biden as Vice President. Resource for this article – James Jones to resign as National Security Advisor by Personal Money Store.

The retirement of James Jones

There had been a recent announcement about James Jones. He will be retiring. The Los Angeles Times reports that he will serve via the rest of October. Jones can be changed by Tom Donilon, the Deputy National Security Advisor. Donilon has plenty of experience. He held the position of chief of staff under Warren Christopher. Christopher worked under President Clinton as Secretary of State. He then worked for Obama as the 3rd president to work under. General Jones only wanted to hold the position for two years. He already had a long career beforehand. Jones had been formerly the Marine Corps Commandant and commander of NATO. Jones did not seek to become National Security Advisor to start with. He was also a chief architect of the Afghan surge strategy currently being implemented.

Exodus of officials

CNN reports that officials keep leaving the Obama administration. Rahm Emanuel hopes to replace Mayor Daley who’s retiring as Mayor of Chicago. Other senior staff, like adviser David Axelrod and economic adviser Larry Summers have left also. A rumor of an additional is going around. Joe Biden may step down. The White House says it won’t be happening, but rumor has it that Obama plans to replace him with Hillary Clinton before the 2012 election.

The White House playing musical chairs

It seems like all the White House staff are disappearing. They all keep leaving. Whether it is simply a coincidence remains to be seen. Big staff changes have happened before. It is not that abnormal.
