The launch date for the Droid Incredible, slated to be Verizon’s new flagship phone, was intended to be a secret. But now everybody knows that Verizon customers could be able to pre-order the Droid Incredible beginning Thursday, April 29. A teaser website on VerizonWireless.com accidentally went live earlier today but was quickly pulled. But now the cat has been let out of the bag.
Confirmed launch of Droid Incredible
For some time now, sighting of the Droid Incredible have been reported by Droid geeks. The anticipation has been nearly unbearable for them as they gossip about rumors of its features and release in the blogosphere. The agony is now being replaced with happiness because of a communication breakdown in the inner sanctum of the Verizon web development and all of us know that April 29 we can use credit cards to order the Droid Incredible.
Droid Incredible Google Nexus One is a matchup
Seems like that the Droid Incredible has the exact same specs as the Nexus One by Google and that Verizon users have been waiting for a while for it. The Droid Incredible can have a 1GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon processor under the hood, accompanied by 576MB RAM/512MB ROM and 8GB of built-in internal storage. It also plans to have the same 3.7 inch AMOLED display with 480×480 pixels. As with the Nexus One, the Incredible will run Android 2.1.
Android Platform improved with Droid Incredible
The biggest difference between the two devices can be that the Droid Incredible runs HTC’s revised Sense UI, according to Eric Zeman at Informationweek.com. Zeman said the newer version of Sense makes using the Android platform a seamless and much more enjoyable experience. HTC's custom overlay contains more powerful screen switching tools and better social networking support. Before it was shut down, the Sense UI was confirmed within the screen shot posted by Verizon Wireless on the teaser site.
Droid Incredible and the point and shoot performance
Other features of the Droid Incredible were revealed on the Verizon site including a hefty 8 megapixel camera with autofocus and flash, meaning the droid might conserve you from finding a personal loan for a new digital camera. Other goodies for the Droid Incredible contain a GPS, a 3.5 mm headset, 802.11 b/g/n Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 2.1, a light sensor, proximity sensor, and a digital compass.
Droid Incredible: the Droid killer
It didn’t take long before Verizon password-protected the Droid Incredible teaser site. It featured a large image of the Droid Incredible, along with information that involved the April 29 launch date. Unless you were one of the few lucky individuals who caught Verizon with their pants down earlier, you are probably shut out now. You’ll expect that Verizon will reopen the site soon so that you can view the adds that will urge you to toss your droid, get a loan, and buy your Droid Incredible.
